How to make epic roulade filled with sweet potato jam

How to make sweet potato jam recipe This sweet potato treat is everything- it’s a jam, pie flavor, cake filling, roulade & cookies flavor.

This old-world authentic recipe that my mom used to flavor so many of her dishes with.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 cups flour

  • 1 cup water

  • 2 cups vegetable oil

  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder

  • 1 cup sweet potato jam

  • TO MAKE

  • Add flour to the mixer, gradually add water, oil, baking powder.

  • Mix to get a nice, elastic dough, easy to work with.

  • Sprinkle a little flour on a working surface, roll dough to open.

  • The dough should be about 1/4 -1/3” thick.

  • Divide the dough to two equal parts

  • Set aside one part, cover with a kitchen towel

  • Spread half of the sweet potato jam evenly all over the dough

  • Roll dough to a long log

  • Pinch to close the sides to prevent leaking of the jam.

  • Place on a line up baking pan with seam facing down

  • Brush with an egg top and sides

  • Make slits on the top part of each log

  • bake at 340 until golden brown, about 30-35 minutes
